Time to Let Go

I just realized that Ryuu has been wearing the same dark blue hakama since the beginning of this story. Man, those must be ripe!

I kid, I kid.

He needs to start putting a shirt on, though.


NOTE TO THE ONES NOT IN THE FANDOM: Yoko is a character that I'm using in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles roleplay, so you will be finding aspects of that peppered into her backstory. Just thought I'd warn you!

Since Oroku Saki's interest in the Takigawa-Gumi was still minute and did not see this plan as a big operation, he approved Ryuu's proposal to send Yoko to infiltrate it. The plan he proposed was a long-term one. Yoko was to be recruited as a young thug, then she would work her way up in the ranks. This was necessary since the heads of the Takigawa-Gumi were very close-knit and untrusting of outsiders. The only way to get yourself up there with them is to work your way up from the bottom, as they would of course be more trusting towards one who has grown up with them from youth. With her skill, she should be able to rise up in rank and have the Takigawa-Gumi under the influence of the Foot by the time she's in her 20's (at this point she was thirteen and Ryuu was sixteen).

The two were reluctant to part, but Ryuu did sincerely believe that the Takigawa-Gumi would be a better place for Yoko. Over there she can get a fresh start without any stigma attached to her. He knew that she was skilled enough to earn respect for herself and get into a place of influence. Meanwhile, he would stay in the Foot, and one day, when he has finally taken the mantle of the Shredder, he would make sure that everybody gives Yoko the respect she deserved.

He promised a tearful Yoko that big brother will always be waiting for her to fulfill her mission and come back home to him. And so off goes Yoko to get recruited, dressed in a track suit and geta like a little delinquent.
