I thought for this one I'd put in a little effort in the illustration But ooooh I hate drawing nameless dead extras. It's so booooooring =_=
And I got totally lazy with the background. The perspective is so sad. If I were my own student I'd fail me, hahahaha.
NOTE TO THE ONES NOT IN THE FANDOM: Yoko is a character that I'm using in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles roleplay, so you will be finding aspects of that peppered into her backstory. Just thought I'd warn you!
If you're a young girl asking to join the mob, the first thing they'd probably offer you would be a career in prostitution, which is exactly what they offered Yoko. It's a man's world, after all. In return she made a deal with them. If any of the other recruits can subdue her within ten minutes, she'll take the offer. If not, then she works for them just like the other boys are doing. The recruiters took a liking to her spunk and ended the game after just 6 minutes and took her in as a thug, but adding as a side note that she should learn to fight on the offensive instead of always being on defense.
Yoko did very well in the Takigawa-Gumi, even beyond Ryuu's expectations. With her no-nonsense attitude and efficient way of getting things done, she soon earned the respect of her peers and the attention of her superiors. She also found out that taking the heat for your superiors with the authorities helps you move up in rank; and so on top of her own misdemeanors, she was also sent to juvenile court for several other crimes that she did not commit. By the age of fifteen, she was already being tried as an adult. However, with the help of the organization's connections, her cases are often dropped, or her sentences light.
What Ryuu didn't expect was how well the Takigawa's resources would nurture Yoko's interests. On top of getting herself further educated and learning English, she gained a vast knowledge on bombs and explosives; from the most crude home-made concoctions to the expensive high-tech variety. And on top of refining her swordfighting skills, she also developed her fighting style using both a sword and a gun at the same time.
Since she was often hot with the law, she was soon on the radar of the clan's Saiko Komon (yakuza lieutenant boss who mostly takes care of the business and legal side of things), Kazuo Tsukasa. Tsukasa was a brilliant businessman in both legal and illegal affairs, and was not happy with the current leadership of the clan. He however noticed Yoko's leadership towards her subordinates and the way she presents herself to civilians and saw that it was exactly how he wanted the organization to be run. It did take him a while to come to terms with the fact that he's actually impressed with a female who's decades his junior, but the feeling nagged at him whenever he observed Yoko. The two soon came to a partnership and Tsukasa adopted Yoko for legal purposes, and began to groom her for a boss position.
