Meiles and Yarifeth Arc 1-1by =yapi

I just wanted to quickly sketch out the scene where Meiles meets Yarifeth. Although honestly, I don't know how he could tell Yari was a blood elf, since she never made it to Outland, and therefore doesn't have the fel colored eyes yet. She gets those a few months later after she gets fed fel magic in Silvermoon. During her years in the Ghostlands she got her magic fix from Bloodthistles and the occassional Amani troll caster XD

Of course, after I was done sketching this out, I realized that I could have narrated this scene with one illustration anyway! Oh well.

I need the comic practice anyway. My paneling skills are... well... non-existent XD

Anyway, just a little more background:

Yarifeth and Theras belonged to a noble family of Holy Priests and Paladins. Her entire family was wiped out by the attacks of the Scourge, leaving only her and her brother Theras.

They were among the elves who were with Kael'thas' caravan, until the humans betrayed the blood elves (when they left them to fight the undead with "sticks and harsh language" in WC3). Theras, thinking only about the safety of his little sister, decided to take her and desert the rest of the group, thinking that maybe they might have a bigger chance of surviving if they went back to Silvermoon.

However, he was quite wrong, and they were ambushed by the Scourge as they made their way back to Quel'thalas. Theras fell trying to protect the young Yari, who managed to get away but got lost in the Ghostlands and was forced to hide in an abandoned post. With her limited knowledge of magic (probably rank one smite, haha), she couldn't venture out too far on her own to find if other elves have survived, as the Ghostlands was crawling with the undead and forest trolls.

When Meiles found Yarifeth, she had no idea that Blood Elves have allied with the Horde. She was frightened to death at the sight of Meiles who she thought was going to eat her, since that's what the Amani trolls said they'd do to her when they almost caught her once.

Meiles probably had to endure a few more smite spells to his face before Yarifeth finally calmed down. Tame pet FTW.
