Oh gosh, it looked as if some of you thought that was the end of this story. Well, it's not! There's still a lot more smut -er- plot ahead! This one is SFW, unless you count semi-violent fighting. All of these logs can be found in order on the master list. -Jisuk

And oh yeah, I don't think we really made it clear in the log, but this takes place a few weeks after the last log! -Yapi

Ratchet—

"I've got a lot of silver against you, troll!"

"Yeah, well I've got gold on you, don't let me down!"

"Smash him good! We want a good show over here!"

Jeers, cheers, and all sorts of yells filled the air around Jin'thekk. From the corner of his eye there were dots of green, blue, brown, purple, and every other pigment there was to all the races gathered around him and his next opponent.

"I'll tear those limbs and feed them to you," taunted the large black tauren standing before him.

Jin'thekk brought up a finger to rub his nose and cocked his head to the side, to stretch his neck. "I t'ot ya tauren be a peaceful kind," he said, moving his head towards the other side this time.

A steam of air rushed out of the bull's nostrils as he laughed. "Don't mistake us true Grimtotem with those little sissy cows in your horde. If you think I'm going easy on you, you're in for a big surprise."

The troll merely snorted at this. He was already bruised from his last two fights, and had just fixed his dislocated shoulder, but he had insisted on going for a third one. "Enough talkin', den. Show me whatchoo got," he growled, snapping into a ready stance.

The bull then charged, hooves pounding on the ground. Jin'thekk's rear foot dug its heel into the ground for a split second and he sprung forward to meet the raging creature head on. A huge cheer from the crowed roared across the town as tauren and troll crashed bodies.

Jin'thekk bared his teeth as he fought against the other's strength, both locked, trying to outmaneuver the other in their grapple. With a shift of his foot, Jin'thekk was able to shake his opponent's balance and throw him down. A cloud of dust flew from the ground right when the Tauren landed. He just as quickly rolled himself back into recovery and charged in again with surprising speed, hitting the troll right at the side of his jaw.

Reeling back, though keeping his feet on the ground, Jin'thekk moved his jaw to shake off the pain that was throbbing at the side of his face as the black hairy creature laughed. Suddenly, the troll began to laugh with him. Yes, this was good. This felt good. The pain, all the goddam pain. It diverted his thoughts more than any furniture carving could. Right at this moment there was nothing in the world but Jin'thekk, the black tauren, and this ring. Nothing in his heart. Nothing in his mind. Not even Koshei.

Koshei? Fuck. Jin'thekk shook the thought out of him again and dove right back in, tackling the tauren and causing both bodies to roll. The crowd went wild.

The boat from Stranglethorn Vale had arrived just recently, and the elf was still feeling thrown-off by the transition to land. Still, any sickness he might feel from being on the ocean was nothing compared to the wretched sensation that teleporting brought. He had been instructed to stay with his small unit as they traveled back to Durotar on the ship, and was now free to disperse wherever he saw fit. He'd liked watching the sea — the ability to simply stand at the ledge of the warship and stare at the water for a while. Unfortunately, doing so had given him time to think, and of course he had only thought about troublesome things. He'd been so close. He'd truly thought, for a short time, that he might not have to be alone anymore. If he hadn't have gone and selfishly pushed himself on that troll, he might still have a friend in Yarifeth. Not that she'd said anything to him about it, but it would simply hurt too much to bear if he returned to Sen'jin. The mage hadn't contacted her since — he hoped she wouldn't think too poorly of him for it.

This town was so noisy. Perhaps it would be able to serve as a distraction. From every direction came sound — the sound of merchants bartering, calling out to potential customers, of goblin women cooing at their men, chatter, trade, the clink of coins and the impassioned shouts from a nearby pit fight. The crowd around the fight was even larger and louder than it usually was, and Koshei made a face as he was forced to push through it in order to get past the main road. Then, he heard it — that unmistakable Zandali accent, the same voice that had once said such sweet things against his ear. It was coming from inside the ring. Koshei stopped walking, knowing he should just walk away. So why was he turning his head? Why was he shoving past two surly looking orcs and a lady-troll waving a handful of money? He came to a stop right behind a goblin, one short enough that the elf could see right over his head without obstruction. There he was.

Jin'thekk had taken the bull by the horns — literally. He fought hard to maintain his hold, the Tauren trying to get his body closer in order to get a better hold of him. Two-toed feet slid backwards, digging a trail as he dug the balls of his feet into the dirt as his opponent continued to push forward.

The side of the troll's face was badly bruised, and a wound had opened on his cheekbone where he's been hit particularly hard. A film of sweat covered his entire body, and every muscle cut, every vein, flexed and rippled as he pulled every last bit of strength left in them.

Finally the tauren faltered, and Jin'thekk was able to maneuver him to the floor, causing him to fall on his back. Immediately Jin'thekk moved, straddling the tauren and letting loose an entire barrage of punches to his face. He shouted as he struck, spit and blood flying everywhere, and the crowd cheered even harder.

He got this. The fight was over. The tauren hasn't yielded yet, but everyone knew it was over. Smug looks among the crowd from the winning bettors, and clouded, disappointed looks from those who had to reach into their pockets and pay up.

One last finishing blow was all he needed. With a roar, Jin'thekk raised his hand high into the air, glanced at the crowd to get them to cheer him on some more, and then..

There he was.

That thin, pale, green-eyed figure that he had been trying to erase from his mind. It was right there in front of him, looking at him.

And for a second, it seemed that the whole world had gone quiet. The momentum in his blow dispersed, and before he knew it —

BAM. His momentary pause gave the tauren an opening to bring a blow right under his chin, causing the troll to fly off his body, an arc of blood and sweat trailing his path. Before his entire body even touched the ground the tauren was on him, grabbing him by the head and lifting him, punching him midair before slamming him back on the ground.

A goblin then ran in and started counting, throwing his finger to point at Jin'thekk with every count. Jin'thekk opened one eye, ignoring the blood and sweat that stung as he quickly scanned the crowd. Did he see what he thought he saw?

Shouts of both disappointment and victory filled the air, and he was pronounced down for the count.

Koshei still wasn't sure why he was watching — why he couldn't look away. He hadn't realized that Jin'thekk was capable of such perfect brutality. The elf stared as he watched the cringe of muscle and the wild, unfettered blows he laid on his opponent. His heart was racing at the sight of it, half with worry and half with stimulation. Despite the pain he felt upon looking at him and the hurt the other had burrowed deep into the mage, he wanted Jin'thekk to win. His body shifted forward in anticipation at what looked like a final blow, when he saw those eyes — those eyes looking up and directly at him. Koshei froze.

When he saw the tauren rise to take advantage, the elf's eyes widened. The troll's name came forth as a whisper as he instinctively stepped forward, wanting to go to him, wanting to stop the other from hurting him. His pulse was racing furiously. Even if Jin'thekk didn't care about him, even if he never wanted to see him again… how dare he! How dare that fucking tauren lay a fucking finger on-

Koshei's thoughts came to an abrupt halt as his arm was grabbed from behind. Glancing over his shoulder, he noticed one of the orcs he had shoved so rudely past earlier as clamped onto him with a firm, green hand.

"Back of the line," he snarled, jerking his thumb behind him to suggest the direction the mage should go.

Koshei quickly turned back to look at Jin'thekk, who was being lifted in the air and slammed into. Panic made him pull his arm in response, trying to get away.

"No, I-"

"Fucking elf," the orc snapped, twisting that skinny arm tightly. It would only require a bit more force to break it. "Back of the line."

"Ah!" Koshei groaned at the jerk on his arm, shooting a glare back at the offending orc. He couldn't even see into the fight anymore, he'd been turned around. He didn't have time for this. Jin was hurting, he had to go to him.

"Let go!" he snapped, attempting once again in vain to pull free. The crowd was too tightly packed to cast any spells without hurting innocent people.

The sting of the mixed sweat, dirt, and blood in his eye made it too hard to see, and Jin'thekk lowered his head, finally giving up the search and chalking it to imagination. So many times he pictured the elf. At the door of his house. At the shore of the beach. In Yarifeth's swimming pool. Perhaps he was picturing him so much that now his mind had started playing tricks on him.

Then just has he let his forehead rest on the floor he heard it. His voice. Despite the noises of the crowd, his ears zoomed in on it. He immediately looked up in the direction of the sound and found him. So it wasn't his imagination after all! Koshei was indeed there. And Koshei was being harassed by an orc.

Without even having time to think, a second wind built up inside him at the sight of the elf being handled painfully by the muscled green figure. Staggering, he pushed himself up and rushed towards Koshei, limping yet still charging as the crowd cooed and cleared a path for him, interested in what was about to transpire.

"Hey!" he managed to yell in his failing voice. "Don' fakkin' touch him!" He put all his remaining strength into landing a blow right at the orc's face, causing him to release the elf's arm as he fell back. Laughter exploded from the crowed and others cheered, chanting for them to fight so they could get more entertainment. By now a circle was clearing around them, as everybody backed up to give them some room to fight.

But that blow was really all Jin'thekk had left, and his next ones were weak and badly aimed. After his past three fights, he was spent. A disappointing display of blows, and once again he was down, and this time, he was staying down. The crowd booed.

"Koshei…" he was barely able to whisper before the darkness took him.

The orc who had so soundly beaten Jin'thekk was lavishing the sudden attention. He was no fighter, really, and had never felt the thrill of defeating an opponent in front of a crowd. Part of him knew that if the troll hadn't just been through three fights, he would have been pummeled into a fine green paste. Still, he let himself enjoy this moment. That was, until the elf ruined his day yet again.

"You!" came a voice from behind him. The orc snapped around to see the mage he'd been lecturing earlier. He looked… different. He was standing with his feet squared, set firmly onto the dusty ground. A frosty vapor was emanating from his figure and those green eyes that had once shown only irritation were now boiling over with anger, glowing brighter, seeming nearly white behind the glowing cold.

"I'll kill you," he said, now that he had the orc's attention. The crowd's interest picked up once again and they jeered, yelling feigned encouragement at the skinny elf. The goblin running the show stomped forward in protest, despite the fact that this was keeping the crowd's attention, rules were rules.

"Hey buddy, no magic in th-"

He couldn't finish his sentence — his entire body locked up in a case of ice, icicles dripping down from his long, green nose. The crowd roared with laugher. The orc wasn't quite sure if he could beat a mage, but running away now would be a shame he could never live down. With a forced confidence he turned to fully face the elf, fisting his hands in preparation.

The fight was quite possibly the most unfair Koshei had ever taken part in, but the elf didn't care. He wanted to see this orc on the ground; he wanted to make him hurt. He unleashed a wave of spells, ice lances hitting one right after the other. The orc never had a chance. He hit the floor in a cloud of dust, blood, and ice, legs flying into the air before he rolled over. Not finished with him, Koshei stepped forward to fulfill his promise. Luckily, he was grabbed once again, this time by two tauren.

"That's enough, elf!" came the voice of the goblin, who was now thawed just enough to move his head.

It wasn't that they cared about the orc's well-being, but having to clean up a murder was messy and time-consuming. It would be easier for everyone if this stopped now.

"Don't fucking touch me!" the mage snapped. As the tauren felt ice beginning to form on their arms, the instinctively released him. Koshei yanked his arms away, then turned back towards the orc. Something, however, drew his attention away. Away from his 'opponent' and back down to Jin'thekk, who lay unconscious and still. Suddenly, he forgot all about the orc and instead stepped over to the troll's side, crouching next to him. There was only one thing he could think to do next. Putting a hand on Jin's arm, he used his other to cast. Seconds later, the teleport stole both of the bodies away from the crowd and away from Ratchet.

Out of nowhere, a burst of light appeared in front of Meiles and Yarifeth's hut, revealing the elf and the troll once it had faded. Koshei had meant to teleport them inside, but moving another body was more difficult than simply porting himself. He fell forward on his knees, putting a hand over his mouth and groaning. He hated teleporting other people.

The sound of chanting and rattling from the other side of the wall went on as Yarifeth hummed happily, throwing down the last of Jin'thekk's sleeping furs to the floor. Since Meiles' son had gone to compete in a pit fight it was a good chance for her to clean up his bed and wash his furs. She climbed back down and dumped them all in a huge basket and walked out of the door, barely able to see what was in front of her due to the great smelly pile obscuring her vision. Slowly and carefully she made her way down the steps of the porch, tapping her foot forward to find the next step, when suddenly a flash of light appeared out of nowhere, startling her.

"Aaaaaaaah!" came a high scream as furs cascaded into the ground, little pink feet flying up in the air, the whole mess tumbling down the stairs. "Waah..? Ow! Aack!" came the muffled cries underneath the matted furs as she frantically tried to free herself from her musk-filled peril. Finally she was able to make out what was up and down, and a pigtailed head popped up from the pile.

"What was… KOSHEI!?!" she cried when she saw her surprise visitor. "Oh my gosh it's been so long! How are— OH MY GOODNESS MY BABY!"

Yarifeth scrambled up to her feet as quickly as she could and made her way to them. She knelt and cupped Jin'thekk's face in both hands.

"Oh, was this from the fight? He… he never lost this badly before…" she said in a confused tone. "Oh Koshei, did you run into him? Oh he's so lucky!"

By then the chanting and rattling stopped and the bead curtain to Meiles' door shook, soon revealing a big purple head with blood painted across the eyes, a long mane of blue hair cascading down his front.

"Wat da fuk happened to da bastard?" he immediately stepped out when he saw Jin'thekk's unconscious body. "Wa— hey skinny boy. I din t'ink we see ya 'ere again."

He walked towards his son, although it was obvious that he was barely keeping himself from breaking into a run. When he reached him he let out a very soft subtle breathe of relief. "He be fine. Jus' beat up. I had worse."

He took Jin'thekk's arm and wrapped it around his shoulder, and grabbing his waist with the other arm. He couldn't be bothered to bring him up to his loft so Meiles dragged him to his own side of the hut, past the unfinished ritual and into the space where he and Yarifeth slept.

"Seems ya always be bearin' trouble, eh skinny boy?" Meiles chuckled to Koshei as soon as he had Jin'thekk settled on his furs.

Koshei watched wordlessly as Yarifeth ran up to them, and as Meiles announced that he would be just fine. The elf cast his eyes down, relieved that Jin'thekk was in the right hands now, and that he wasn't hurt too badly. He'd come to Sen'jin instinctively, not having thought about how awkward it would be for him to actually be there. He wished that he could have followed Meiles up into that hut. He wanted to sit next to Jin, to soothe his brow and wait for him to wake up. But… Jin didn't want any of that. That wasn't what his life 'should be.' Whatever his plans for the future were, they certainly didn't involve some skinny elf. A male one. And yet, he'd come to defend him when that orc had grabbed his arm. Why would he do that? Maybe because he was a friend of Yarifeth's.

The more Koshei stood there and thought, the more he wanted to leave. It hurt too much to be here, to be standing right in front of the hut where they'd slept next to one another, where he'd felt so completely warm and safe. The same one where he'd been told that he should carry on with his life and forget about what they'd shared.

It was such a strange place, one where he'd felt so perfect and then, so soon after, felt so broken. He dared not glance at the hut, nor Meiles.

"That sounds about right," he said, his voice tired as he rubbed his shoulder. "If you're sure he'll be all right… I'd best be on my way. It looks like you were in the middle of something."

"My apologies," he said, the painful formality accentuated with a bow of his head.

"Wait, Koshei," Yarifeth said, holding her hand out. "Don't go! You just suddenly left last time! Can't you stay?"

She then turned to her husband and gave him a pleading look. "Meiles? Is it all right if you take care of Jin'thekk for a moment? There's something I want to discuss with Koshei."

"Such as?" the troll responded, raising his brow.

"Well I heard that there's a new bakeshop that opened in Silvermoon," Yarifeth answered cheerfully. "And also it should be time for Threads of Fate to come out with a new collection, and I know we can't afford anything there, but I just wanted to—"

"A'right, a'right!" Meiles interrupted, not wanting to hear any more about senseless blood elf concerns. "Take yer time," he said, disappearing back into the house to tend to his son.

Yarifeth went to Koshei and took his hands, taking him down the path the led to her waterhole. She was sure nobody was around, but just to be safe she spoke in Thalassian. "Koshei, is something wrong? Things were going so well that day, and then suddenly you just left. I know your letter said that you'd been called back for an urgent matter, but… we didn't hear anything at all from you after that."

She hesitated a moment, clearing her throat, before continuing. "And also… Jin'thekk seems upset. Now I know I'm not his real mother or anything, but… is there something I should be aware of?"
